So powerful that it provokes and is capable of engaging billions of people around the world.
It took two years of sketches, ideas, meetings, and six months inside the Maracanã to build "the most incredible project of our lives," according to Fred, Marcelo, and Vik.
The asterisk #16 commemorates the creation of the Opening Ceremony of the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, in homage to the games and the human creative spirit.
Fred Gelli
With more than 35 years of experience, Fred has received over 200 national and international awards, including the iF Design Award, IDEA USA, D&AD, and Cannes Lions. He has served on juries for the world’s most prestigious design festivals, including D&AD (2007), the 55th Cannes Lions (2008), Jury President at Dubai Lynx (2016), and currently President of the Jury at D&AD 2025.
